NYPD counterterrorism unit’s ranks could be slashed by up to 75%: internal email
Of the unit’s 300 cops assigned to the unit — part of the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau — the department is mulling moving 240 of them back to street-level patrol, staffing other commands, including the new 116th precinct in Queens, set to open next spring, sources have said.
