Everyone loves Ryan Reynolds’ and Hugh Jackman’s friendship, as the actors constantly take jabs at one another. Reynolds’ on-screen counterpart, Deadpool, has taken advantage of this relationship, poking fun at both Wolverine and Jackman throughout his solo movies.

It all started with 2016’s “Deadpool” opening with Wade Wilson admitting he had to be intimate with Wolverine-Jackman to get his own movie. Toward the end of the film, Deadpool cuts out Jackman’s face from People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue, using it as a mask under his mask. While that’s already more than enough to get under Wolverine’s skin, Reynolds and his titular anti-hero dialed it up even more for the sequel.

The opening scene of “Deadpool 2” pokes fun at Wolverine’s death in “Logan,” with a music box turning his emotional death into a quick joke. Then, the Merc with a Mouth claims that Wolverine copied him with the R-rating on his final outing, which came out after “Deadpool.” While neither Wolverine nor Jackman have had the opportunity to clap back on the big screen, that’s about to change with “Deadpool 3.” The MCU threequel will finally reunite the beloved characters on screen since the days of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” which Reynolds still regrets filming.

“Deadpool 3” remains one of Marvel Studios’ most-anticipated upcoming movies, featuring the on-screen reunion of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine, respectively. With each jab one actor takes at the other, the hype continues to grow, but fans still don’t have an official title or any idea of what to expect from the threequel outside its cast.

Ahead of the 2023 award season, Jackman posted a video on Twitter, begging for Reynolds’ song from “Spirited” not to get nominated for an Academy Award, saying, “Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the ‘Best Song’ category would make the next year of my life insufferable. I have to spend a year with him, shooting ‘Wolverine and Deadpool.'” While fans thought Jackman had revealed the year’s biggest scoop, it turned out to be the latest installment in the actors’ ongoing feud. “Tsk, ‘Wolverine and Deadpool,’ who’s he kidding? Not on your life, ‘Chappie,'” Reynolds responded in his own video, proving once again that both actors can take just as many punches as they dish out.

All jokes aside, Reynolds and Jackman have a strong friendship, so they aren’t afraid to jokingly get nasty with one another in the public eye. During Rubrik’s Keynote, Reynolds gave a rare look at his real feelings toward Jackman, saying that “Deadpool 3” is one of his favorite projects ever because he gets to work with people he loves, like Jackman and director Shawn Levy. While the actors continue their feud both on and off-screen, rest assured, at the end of the day, it’s all a bit between two friends.
