There are two different speeds of sound on Mars
In 1947, Chuck Yeager flew the X-1, an experimental rocket plane, over Rogers Dry Lake in Southern California and broke the sound barrier for the first time. To pull it off, he had to fly his plane at speeds exceeding 662 miles per hour, which is the speed of sound at an altitude of 25,000 feet.
