Stunning One Piece Vivi Cosplay Breathes Life Into the Princess of Arabasta
A stunning new Vivi cosplay transports the blue-haired princess from the world of One Piece and into our own.
Alifia Cosplay uploaded a picture of the incredible cosplay on Reddit. According to the creator, the costume was inspired by One Piece Film: Red, the most recent movie in the long-running pirate franchise. Moreover, responding to a comment complimenting their skill, Alifia Cosplay revealed that they "want to do more [One Piece] cosplay!"

Eiichiro Oda's iconic One Piece manga debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1997, and the ongoing series has produced well-over 1,000 individual chapters. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a young pirate captain with a body made out of rubber. As he sets sail in pursuit of his dream to become the next King of the Pirates, Luffy encounters and recruits a myriad of colorful characters to his crew, including a directionally challenged swordsman, a talking reindeer and an archeologist who can grow additional limbs. With over 516 million copies sold worldwide, One Piece is by far the best-selling manga series of all time.
One Piece Characters Make for Great Cosplay
Princess Vivi, first introduced in the Reverse Mountain story arc, isn't the only One Piece character who has inspired incredible cosplay. MyFaceMyCanvas also posted images of their pre-time skip Law cosplay on Reddit. The outfit captures all the swagger and attitude of the captain of the Heart Pirates. Moreover, up-and-coming cosplayer Leo brought Yamato, the Oni Princess and son of Kaido of Beasts, to life in a very accurate cosplay.
There have been several recent developments in the One Piece franchise beyond impressive instances of cosplay. Notably, apparel maker VANS announced a new collection based on the series. The line features shows and other clothing items like hoodies and hats, and everything showcases One Piece iconography, like the Straw Hats' wanted posters and their Jolly Roger.
Moreover, Bandai will release two new One Piece games early next year. First, One Piece Odyssey will drop on Jan. 13; according to the developer, the video game "transports the Straw Hat Crew to a mysterious new island where they embark on quests and fight powerful enemies and massive bosses in exciting turn-based battles." Second, the Choppertchi Tamagotchis will hit stores in February. The special toy will allow fans to raise their very own Chopper, the aforementioned talking reindeer.
VIZ Media distributes Oda's manga in English, and Toei Animation's One Piece anime series is available on Crunchyroll, Netflix and Hulu.
