Kim Kardashian’s Mystique Halloween Costume Is Utterly Mystifying
Kim Kardashian turns heads with her homage to a famous X-Men character to celebrate Halloween this year.
The reality star, entrepreneur and media personality took to Instagram on Oct. 31 to post multiple visuals of her dressing up as Mystique, including a video showcasing her look to the official X-Men theme song. The video shows Kardashian showcasing the costume back-to-front to her over 332 million followers on the social website. She wore her X-Men cosplay while attending the 50th birthday party of Girlfriends and Blackish actor Tracee Ellis Ross despite it not being a costume party. She also shared an Instagram story alongside Ross while decked head-to-toe in the costume while wishing her a happy birthday and calling her the most beautiful and caring soul.

Kim Kardashian Calls Out Marvel
Kardashian's replicating of Mystique led many in the comment section to call for Marvel to cast the socialite in a future X-Men film. She has expressed interest in gracing a Marvel movie, saying she's not actively seeking a role but that it would be fun to do if the opportunity came. If so, her would-be Marvel foray would be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as X-Men, a team that is expected to make an MCU debut soon, according to Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. Kardashian has acted in movies sparingly despite being in the spotlight for two decades, playing a supporting role in the 2013 film Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor and the August 2021 animated action-adventure comedy Paw Patrol: The Movie, for which she voiced a poodle named Delores.
Mystique is a prominent character for X-Men fans, first appearing in the April 1978 edition of the Ms. Marvel comic book series. Also known by her real name, Raven Darkhölme, she is a mutant and shapeshifter who expertly mimics the personalities and voices of people. She was also revealed to be the mother of X-Men hero Nightcrawler and the villainous Graydon Creed. However, the character was reinvented as a mix between a villain and an anti-hero at different stages of Marvel Comics' lore.
Rebecca Romijn played a bellwether, visually re-worked version of Mystique in the X-Men (2000), reprising the role in X2 (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). Eventually, Jennifer Lawrence would inherit the role as a younger version of Mystique, starting with X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Dark Phoenix (2019). Lawrence won three People's Choice Awards for her Mystique portrayals.
Kardashian voice role in Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is currently scheduled for a 2023 release.
