Taking over a year to complete, sirbalz created an entire city within the buildable plots that Fallout 4 grants to players to construct, customize, and protect throughout the course of the game. The densely populated and immaculately detailed creation is an inspiration to the settlement-building community in Fallout 4, with ingenuity in their usage of verticality and spacing, constructing a city that looks believably lived-in. Using the conquest mod to extend their plot, sirbalz was able to make their vision of a crowded thoroughfare in Fallout 4 a reality.

While Fallout 76 may entice certain players looking to gather resources to build their own post-apocalyptic shelter within the Fallout universe, some, like sirbalz, never left the comfort of Fallout 4. Despite issues regarding clunkiness in its UI and the technical limitations that come with being an almost decade-old game, there is a definite charm to taking in refugee NPCs and giving them a metropolis to settle down in. Whether Bethesda intends to iterate upon the settlement-building system when Fallout 5 finally comes out is unknown, but many fans are hopeful that between the lessons learned with Fallout 4 and Fallout 76, the ability to construct habitations for the denizens of its irradiated world will be fine-tuned by the time the game is announced.
Builds like sirbalz emphasize the dedication and passion that gamers can possess when a game truly speaks to them. Anything that takes as long as their Fallout 4 city did to create is worthy of all the admiration and praise that is heaped onto it.
Fallout 4 is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
