Chapter 2 of Deliver Us Mars begins after the Zephyr III reaches Earth orbit. While the launch was successful and had no issues, the spaceship is unable to avoid some of the debris left behind by the space station that exploded in Deliver Us the Moon.
To fix this problem, Kathy must exit the Zephyr on an EVA walk and clear the debris by hand. Her sister Claire will help her through this task, but players may find solving this puzzle tricky even with the added help. And if that wasn't enough, Kathy has to go on a second EVA after the ship reaches Mars. This guide will help players of Deliver Us Mars through the more difficult aspects of this challenge.

The Earth EVA
The first thing players should know is that Kathy has a limited air supply outside the ship. The time limit is very generous, but players should avoid wasting time if they don't want to start over.
Begin the puzzle by floating to the rear of the ship. Different parts will highlight as Kathy inspects the damage, and players must select each one in turn. After the assessment is finished, open the yellow panel next to the thruster and flip the big switch. Players can now begin cutting away the debris. Some important points to remember:
- Like Claire says, hitting the yellow power nodes is very bad. Players should look "up" at the thruster as much as possible to avoid any accidents.
- Every line players must cut looks brown and flashes yellow. This will be true about most laser puzzles in the future, too.
- While players can cut some objects from a single angle, the large objects need to be cut from several angles.
- The laser sounds louder when it's actively cutting through an object, and it leaves a glowing line behind.
- Players must enter the thruster cone to cut every object, and this includes a pipe on the far side of the thruster away from the rest of the debris.
After Kathy is done cutting, Claire tells her to turn the power back on. To do this, players must solve a quick puzzle using all the buttons in the power panel. First, make sure the switches under the red lights are vertical while the ones under the white lights are horizontal, and then flip the yellow switch.
Next, flip the five switches in the middle in a specific order. Counting from the left, the right order is 2, 4, 5, 1, and 3. Finally, players can flip the big switch at the bottom and head back inside.
The Mars EVA
When the Zephyr reaches Martian orbit, Kathy must go on a second EVA to reassess the damaged thruster. It turns out the cone has taken even more damage during the trip, and Claire orders Kathy to remove it.
The new puzzle starts with power again, but the switches in the panel are busted. Instead, players must open the glass panel next to it and use the laser to cut the connecter loose. Next, players must cut open the base of the thruster piece by piece. The cut points are right next to the yellow power nodes, so players should be extremely careful where they point their laser.
After cutting a panel loose, players should use the laser to remove the explosive bolts beneath them. Each panel has four bolts underneath. Once about half of the bolts are gone, the thruster will explode and knock Kathy away from the ship. This happens when players have successfully beaten the puzzle, so don't worry about restarting. Instead, wait until control comes back and then head for the airlock as fast as possible. Chapter 2 will end soon afterwards.
