Prince Harry, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Irwin Competing Against Each Other To Become David Attenborough’s Successor?
David Attenborough is getting older by the minute so he’s allegedly looking for a successor who could follow in his footsteps.
A source told New Idea that there are three individuals in the running to take Attenborough’s place when the time comes namely, Prince Harry, Chris Hemsworth, and Robert Irwin.
“Team Attenborough has been scouring the globe for an heir apparent and three clear possibilities were identified. Robert would be ideal though he is already aligned with his own family’s brand, so it will take some negotiating,” the source said.
Hemsworth, on the other hand, managed to prove his mettle as a documentary host. So, he could also be a good fit. However, he has a packed schedule ahead.
“Harry would have been the top pick being British, doing so much conservation work in Africa, and having a long-time friendship with David through the royal family. But Meghan fancied the idea of her and Harry as a duo rather than just Harry carrying on David’s legacy. Once it became clear that one was not an option without the other, they went back to the drawing board,” the source said.
The insider insisted that Attenborough and his team are looking at Hemsworth as the leader and Irwin as their second option.
But even if the day comes that Attenborough and his team find him a replacement, they want the world to know that he can never really be replaced because of all his contributions to the environment.
“David is a legend and an irreplaceable one-off,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Attenborough’s team is looking for a replacement for him. As another source said, he is irreplaceable.
And it’s not also true that Hemsworth, Irwin, and Prince Harry are all in the running to take on Attenborough’s current role. As such, it’s obvious that the tabloid just made up this story to pit the three male personalities against each other.
It doesn’t also make sense to even mention the Duke of Sussex as one of Attenborough’s teams’ alleged options when they know for a fact that Markle wouldn’t allow him to take on the new role.
Yet again, the tabloid made it seem as though Markle is a villain.
